Implemented by GICS, the 2016 Pearl River Delta-located Universities’ Education with Nonprofit Sector Focus Support Project aims to support more educators with focus on the nonprofit sector (especially those college teachers who have strong willing to work in this field)to explore educational innovation and carry out service learning to promote the development of college student associations and groups for public interest and engage in public service. With these initiatives and efforts, college students can be expected to develop their personal abilities and have more focus on and care for social issues, thus promoting their personal growth and their professional abilities to further social development.
The project holds educational innovation and nonprofit sector-themed workshops,salons and experience-sharing meetings, and provides a small amount of educational innovation grant for college faculty to open educational innovation and nonprofit sector-oriented courses in the hope that students can engage in the class activities and extra-curricular social practices, and promote the students’ reflection and critical thinking abilities, social practice/service awareness and abilities, care for social issues and sense of responsibilities, and their abilities in understanding their relationshipwith others and society.
Tong Chai provides funding for the project’s workshops,salons and experience-sharing meetings, data sorting, small educational innovation grant, and administrative management, etc.
