The Beijing Western Sunshine Bridge Plan Project (Phase II), implemented by Beijing Western Sunshine Foundation, is a project that helps start-up public welfare education organizations to grow. The project provides micro grants and a peer-to-peer communication platform for those selected start-up public welfare education organizations and help those organizations that have potential to smoothly and healthily scale up.
Macao Tong Chai Charity Association has supported the 2014-2015 Bridge Plan Project. After careful inspection on the project, we found that the project’s plan was well implemented with better outcome produced. In the meantime, the project team still pursued further improvement. Based on many years’ practice, the team has had a better understanding of “bottlenecks” that would hinder the development and growth of start-up public welfare education organizations. The problems they target now are more focused.
Therefore, the new phase of Bridge Plan Project targets three aspects that will enhance capacities of start-up public welfare education organizations:(1) capacities to find and respond to educational issues; (2) capacities to extend and integrate resources; (3) capacities to build and manage the team. So the project will locate 10-15 start-up public welfare education organizations and establish a partnership with them to support them for at least one of three capacities to be enhanced. It is expected that these organizations, after completion of the project’s support, can get more attention and support from other funders.
Macao Tong Chai Charity Association provides a small amount of funding for this project, covering the cost of partial exchange activities, project’s operation and management.
